Five days and counting...

We leave for our short term mission trip in five days! We are very excited! Last night we had our last team meeting prior to departure and we brought all of our craft supplies together to divide up. Everyone was so exited, some were even giddy. I think I need to start a list of things we need to bring so that we don't forget anything. You know, those important things like passports. I guess I'd better start getting all the laundry done also and keeping it up so I am not doing piles and piles of it on Saturday. Saturday will be rather busy in itself.

If you would like to pray for us, there are some specific things we need prayer for.

  1. Pray for the health of our family and team members, but also for their extended families that will be home when they go.
  2. Pray for safety in our travels. We will be gone from October 12 through October 20. We fly to Mexico City and then take a 2 hour bus ride from there to Puebla. The bus station is then about 20 minutes from the guest house where we stay.
  3. Pray for green lights through customs. In Mexico, you push a button and it lights up either green or red. If it is green, you just go right through. If it is red, they check your luggage. It is basically a random check. Every trip so far has been a green light for every member on our team.
  4. Please pray that we would recognize spiritual warfare when it comes. It is easy for people to get tired and sick when we are in Mexico but many times it is simply the enemy trying to side track us and tear us down from what God wants us to do.

Thanks for you prayers. I'll try to keep you updated this week. Once we are there, I will not have an Internet connection so I will most like write things down and share them all when we get home.
