Jonathan recently wanted to sing a song that we love from Mexico so I looked it up to hear it again. It is one of our favorite songs we learned after going to Mexico the first time. We taught it to our first team that we led and I thought I would put it here for you. Just click the play button. The words and translation are below. I hope you enjoy it.
La única razón de mi adoración (The only reason for my worship)
Eres Tú mi Jesús (It is You my Jesus)
Mi único motivo para vivir (My only motive for living)
Eres Tú mi Señor. (It is You my Lord)
Mi única verdad está en Tí (My only truth it's in You)
Eres mi luz y mi salvación (You are my light and my salvation)
Mi único amor eres Tú Señor (My only love is You Lord)
y por siempre te alabare. (And forever I worship You)
Tú eres todopoderoso (You are almighty)
Eres grande y majestuoso (You are great and majestic)
Eres fuerte invincible (You are strong invincible)
Y no hay nadie como Tú. (And no one is like You.)

A Reunion with Gordy
For those that don't know, in June of this year we had to give our puppy back to the breeder. This was due to some aggression he was showing and he bit a child in the face. (Saying Good-bye to Gordy) Well, recently, the kids have been wanting to see him and the breeder had told me to give her a call and she would bring him over for them to see him. So, yesterday we did just that. Gordy came to visit. The kids loved seeing him again and he did all of his tricks for us ... for cheese and Goldfish crackers of course.
The kids have really missed having a dog. We have told them that we would get a dog (notice I said dog and not puppy - we are done with puppies) once we have moved to Mexico.
.
Erin and Jim had taught Gordy how to roll over. Well, he hadn't forgotten it even though Vicki, his current owner, said he hasn't done any of his tricks with her. He just kept rolling over and rolling over. It was pretty funny.
Another fun one was the high five. It took him a minute but then he remembered what to do. Of course for Gordy, he'll do almost anything for a Goldfish cracker. Vicki told us to give her a call again and the kids could see Gordy again before we move to Mexico.

A New President
Well, the voice of the people has been heard. We all voted and we now have a new president. Some of us are saddened by the elections and some people are rejoicing. It is good time to remember a what the Bible says.
Romans 13:1 "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."
So, as we have prayed for the elections, now we must pray for our newly elected president.

Turning Forty-five!
What is it that makes people, women especially, have a hard time with growing older? This has always boggled my mind. Isn't a birthday just another number? Today I turn forty-five and I have a feeling that this year is going to be the best year yet. I have actually been looking forward to turning a year older, don't ask my why. One thing I know is that this next year is going to be a year filled with adventure. We have many changes coming up with moving to Mexico. It is quite exciting! So, instead of dreading getting older, I was actually looking forward to it this year. God is so good and I am so blessed. I have a wonderful husband, wonderful children and I have all that I need. I even have way more than I need. God is good. Most of all though, I have Him. With Him, I can face whatever tomorrow brings, whether little or plenty, and each year I get older is another blessing from God.

The Christmas Tree Lot is just a few weeks away!

For the past four Christmas seasons, Jim and I have run the East Hill Christmas Tree Lot fund raiser. This year will make five years. The tree lot is the big fund raiser for missions at our church. In the past the money has gone to short term mission teams and last year it went to our long term missionaries. This year we are hoping to train someone to take our place so that the tree lot will continue in future years when we are in Mexico. We are also hoping to partner with My Father's House which is a local shelter for families. My Father's House has just opened their new facility which has been built entirely debt free. God has truly blessed them.
The past few years all of our Noble Firs have been generously donated by a local tree farmer who has agreed to generously donate trees again this year. We want to thank them so much for their giving hearts.
During the tree lot season, we also run the Trees of Joy program as part of the tree lot. In this program, people can donate $20.00 for a tree that will go to a family in need. In this season and in the economic times we live in, this will be a great blessings this year to many.
If you live in the Portland area and would like to support the tree lot and East Hill Missions, we encourage you to stop by beginning Friday, November 28 through Saturday, December 20 and pick out a tree. We are open 9 AM to 9 PM daily. Our trees start at $20.00 and go up depending on size and type of tree. The tree lot is totally run by volunteers and all proceed go to the missions department for global and local outreach.
May God bless you all as we enter into the holiday season and the celebration of the birth of our precious Lord and Savior.
