Erin Made Team

Last Saturday Erin went to gymnastics for a make up lesson. She was invited to come and go through the testing for pre-team which she was already a part of. We found out last night that she got 87% on all the skills which was very good. Apparently, she needed 80% to be able to join Team at level 4 where they start competing. So, we decided to let her join and the Training Center is allowing her to start now because we will be leaving in April. Normally the do not allow new members to join until the spring. The possibility even exists (if we choose to let her) to compete in one meet before our move to Mexico. This is somethings she has wanted for a while now so it is good to see her be able to do this. For those of you who think we keep a busy schedule already, she will now be going to gymnastics on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 4:00 to 7:30. That's a commitment.

When she was at practice last night, they were doing round off back hand springs. The coach asked if she needed a spotter and she said that she could do it on her own. Well, she did it, on her own with no help! As she got more tired, she had a spotter but it was so cool to watch her accomplish that. I am so glad that she is able to take this time to advance because she really is good at it. It also is a good discipline practice for her.

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

We had heard there was a forecast of snow but we hear that here in Portland, Oregon and then nothing ever happens. Can you believe it? The weatherman was right! It has been snowing all morning and what surprises me even more is that the tree lot is still selling plenty of trees. Yea!

Jonathan, Gail and Jim trying to stay warm outside long enough for a picture.

This is just down the street from the tree lot, less than a block away.

Lissa (our friend) and Gail working at the tree lot.

On the streets traveling home from church.

We hope you are all staying warm and dry today! I'll send more pictures as I take them. It is not supposed to get above freezing until Wednesday so I think this snow will stay for a few days. Usually when we get snow here, it is gone the next morning. Kids in the area are jumping for joy because most likely, there will be no school tomorrow.

Our Missionary Cards Being Printed Now

Well, the next step in our move to Mexico and our fund raising is in process right now. I just got a call that our perforated support cards are going to print. Yea! They look wonderful and we are really looking forward to having them in our hands and being able to send them out. We have had many people tell us that when we get ready to raise support, let them know. We should have them within one week! For those friends of ours who are preparing for the mission field, we ordered them form www.missionarycards.com. Check them out. They are very affordable and a good quality also.

Erin and I went to see Kristen and the kids on Friday but I forgot my camera. So, we took some with her camera and she just sent them to me. So here are new pictures of the grandkids.

Tagging Trees

George and Steve have spent the last two mornings tagging trees for me. We received a new delivery of trees and before they go on the lot, they all need to be measured and tagged with a color ribbon that codes them for their price. It's a big job and these two guys are so faithful in their help. I couldn't do it without them.
