Hola familia y amiogs,
We have just returned from a week in Mexico at Esperanza Viva. What an awesome time we had.
It is quite a site when we arrive at the Mexico City airport and we pile all of our luggage in one spot to await the departure on the bus. We had a team of nine people which means eighteen pieces of checked on luggage and then all of the carry-ons as well.
Throughout the week we did activitied with the kids. They colored big puzzle pieces as we talked about how each one of us is part of God's family. They also colored bummerangs and we talked about how what we do and what we say can come back to us.
We also had a day that we took the younger kids to a park. These are very special outings for the kids since they don't get to do it that often.
With the teens we had a special time on Friday night. The guys had a movie night. They watched "Facing the Giants" and had pizza. They talked about how with God, nothing is impossible. The guys had a great time!
The teen girls also had pizza and they did a Bible study on the woman at the well. Then we treated them to pedicures. Some of them had never had anything so special. It was an awesome experience for all of us.
The other awesome thing God did was changing Jonathan's attitude. He actually said that Mexico wasn't so bad. For those of you that don't know, Jonathan has not been in favor of our moving to Mexico next year. So when he started asking what words were in Spanish and asking how to say things, we were amazed. Jim gave him a small electronic translator and he was looking up words all the time. We have never even gotten picture of Jonathan looking like he's having a good time until this year.
Well, that's all for now. I'll share more later.
